The Ease of Method Screening & Process Optimization

CIM® monolithic well plates combine the advantages of monolithic chromatography with the convenience of a standard well plate format. They ensure robustness and reliable results, making them ideal for screening multiple chromatographic conditions simultaneously or high-throughput purification of large biomolecules. Each well contains a CIM monolith that enables high flow rates across the plate, with high capacity and yields.

Choosing the Right Tool for Your Screening Task

CIM monolithic well plates can be used for diagnostic or screening purposes. They enable high-throughput process development through fast and efficient evaluation of binding, washing, elution conditions and other chromatographic parameters. The properties of the medium are directly comparable to CIMmultus chromatographic columns, making CIM monolithic well plates a robust tool in early process development stages. These plates are used for fast, highly efficient screening of samples or purification parameters for nucleic acids, viruses, virus like particles, and proteins. They are reusable and perfectly scalable to the existing portfolio.

CIM® Monolithic Well Plates are a scalable tool, available in 96- and 24-well format, with 0.05, 0.2, and 1.0 mL monolith volumes. Designed according to ANSI/SLAS, microplate standard are compatible with vacuum manifold, centrifuge, and positive pressure systems. Each well contains a CIM monolith that enables high flow rates across the plate, with high capacity and yields. They are reusable and perfectly scalable to the existing portfolio.

Benefits of CIM Monolithic Well Plates

  • Simplicity of operation: no shaking and incubation required.
  • Easy transfer of the results to a larger scale: monoliths in well-plates have the same properties as larger preparative monoliths (CIMmultus®), allowing simultaneous screening of multiple conditions and easy scale-up.
  • Time & money savings: Increased productivity by quick processing time and reduced sample consumption.
  • Monolith technology benefits: Up to 10-times greater capacities compared to other resin-based columns for large biomolecules due to high surface availability of binding sites. Low shears allow 3-times higher yields for particles and large biomolecules compared to other purification resins.

“We have been very happy with the CIM screening plates. They have been incredibly useful for buffer composition screening studies that showed very tight correlation to scaled-up conditions. These are wonderful products that we hope Sartorius will continue to prioritize.”
