DEAE (diethylamine) is a weak anion exchanger which selectively binds biomolecules with predominant negative charge over a working pH range of 3-9. It is suitable for a wide range of applications particularly for purification and concentration of viruses, VLPs and large proteins in capture steps of the DSP. It has a very high pDNA binding capacity for pDNA and is a chemistry of choice for any kind of pDNA purification. Compared to the QA chemistry it has a different selecitivity for a certain type of molecule.
