Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to the 2008 Monolith Summer School and Symposium which will be held from May 30-June 4 in Portorož, Slovenia. The only international event dedicated to Monolith Technology is expanding and will include an additional 2 day school focused on important business topics surrounding this technology (intellectual property, venture capital funding, etc), an opportunity for young researchers to hone their presentation skills, and an overview of the technology. This will be followed by the Symposium which will focus on the research and application of this important purification technology.

Some of the comments from the 2006 summer school are:

  • “It was interesting to hear how many different applications were made on monoliths.”
  • “The Conference provided a base of knowledge on the monolith chromatography media and properties related to its application.”
  • “The different applications for monolith by different research groups around the world.”
  • “The possibility to exchange the knowledge, experience with the other participants.”
  • “Fabulous summer school!!” “The broad interest in the monolithic materials is amazing / The number of participants and their quality were remarkable.”
You can read more about the school in an article recently published by Pete Gagnon in the October 1st issue of Genetic Engineering News (Genet. Eng. News, 2006, 26(17), Oct. 1, 44-46.) and get your copy of the 2006 Monolith Summer School Abstract Book NOW!

As in the past, you will be able to read the proceedings from the 2008 school in the Journal of Chromatography A.
